Tayja's Fish Tank

Tayja got a fish tank for Christmas. She wanted a Dalmatian puppy. So we got her this 20 gallon fish tank and put a couple of black and white fish (black skirt tetras) in it. I think the tank theme will be black and white fish.

When Ryan was here he got her two crabs to put in it. One expired in four days. The fish, however, are still going strong.

My dog's names

Red, who's formal name is Robin's Fast Red Dog, is a greyhound. He was born 2/24/2003. We got him as a 11 week old puppy.

Here is his family tree:

Blue, who's formal name is Alta-Tollhaus Lapis Lazuli, is a German Shepherd. She born 10/28/2003. I drove home in a snow storm from Michigan to Ohio when I picked her up at 9 weeks old.

Jan 2 photos

I will have to start taking a camera with me were ever I go, as I did when I was young and hungry because I think you all will get very tired of looking at photos of my dogs!

Here is today's offering - more photos of Red and Blue:

Tomorrow I will go out in the cold for photos.

Ryan's visit

My son Ryan visited us for several days after Christmas. It was very nice having him here. Tayja and Red both adore him. I did not take a single photo or video while he was here. Bad me!

We did look at about 10,000 digital photos that I have taken and store on dvd's. Ryan, who was not impressed with my lack of an organized filing system, picked a few to have printed to hang in his apartment. Here are some of the photos he liked:

The Challenge - A year in pictures

The first professional photographer to believe in me as a photographer (25 YEARS AGO!) has challenged and inspired me to take a photo everyday for a year. I didn't even do that while I was working 27 years as a photojournalist for a daily newspaper!

When I was a cocky full of myself college student, I spent all my free time following E. W. Faircloth and Norman Lono around while they were working at the Philadelphia Daily News.

Cloth never told me that I was a pest and taught me some of the most important lessons a young photojournalist needs to know to get by on the streets. He took me along on whatever photo assignments he had and bullied his boss to hire me for a summer job and when that ended for a temp job to replace someone off having a baby.

Thank you Cloth for believing in me then and giving me a push now. Cloth left the newspaper business around the same time that I did for a lot of the same reasons.

Here is Cloth's blog. http://faircloth.org/blog1/
