Robert Spencer Sallie (July 24, 1937 -May 2, 2008)
Robert (Bobby) Spencer Sallie, 70, of Daugherty Township, went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 2, 2008, surrounded by his loving family at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Bobby was born July 24, 1937, in Beaver Falls, PA, to the late James C. Sallie and Ella Louise Brown Sallie. At an early age, Bobby was baptized at Second Baptist Church, Beaver Falls. He faithfully attended Tabernacle Baptist Church, Beaver Falls, for many years. He graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1955. He attended the New Castle School of Trades for auto mechanics, and received a Certificate of Supervision from Community College of Beaver County.
He was a retiree from J&L Steel, Aliquippa, where he was a supervisor in the Seamless Tube Department. He also served diligently as a plant manager for Hospital Specialty Company, Cleveland, OH, a supervisor at Nova Chemical Company, Raccoon Township, and a greeter at Giant Eagle in Cranberry Township.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Louise Tillman in April 2002, and a brother-in-law, Henry Terry.
On July 13, 1959, he was united in marriage to Freda Lee Dorsey and to this union, three children were born.
To cherish his memory, he leaves a devoted wife Freda; two loving daughters, Meloney (Wally) Dosunmu, Allentown, PA, and Robin Tinay Sallie, Burnsville, MN; one son, Robert (Bay) Sallie II, New Brighton; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, James E. (Mary) Sallie, Midland; two aunts, Lucinda McNeal and Sara White, both of Detroit, MI; five godchildren; two brothers-in-law, David Tillman, New Brunswick, New Jersey, and Holsey (Wilda) Dorsey, Yonkers, New York; three sisters-in-law, Erma Burton, Barbara Thomas, and Maxine Terry, all of Pittsburgh, and many devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives, Helen Anderson, Martika and Pierce Rawl, Roxana Saad, and many wonderful, wonderful friends.
Family and friends were received Thursday, May 8, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 630 Third Ave., Beaver Falls. His Homegoing service was held Friday, May 9, 2008, at 11 a.m at Tabernacle Baptist Church. The Rev. Calvin C. Brown presided.
Interment followed in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
