Photo Tip for today

Set your digital camera to not fire if you do not have a disk in it.

As you take a disk out, put a second disk in to your camera so it is always ready for action.

If you are using film, make sure you have film in the camera before you start shooting your sister's wedding. ;-[

When you remove a roll of film or disk, reload even if you are just sticking the camera back in the bag.

I can see someone comes from a background where there's no excuse to not have film in the camera or be ready to take pictures 24/7.

Back in the day, when we used film cameras, it also helped to keep an eye on the rewind knob. As you loaded a fresh roll with the film advance lever, the rewind knob would turn from the tension of the film being pulled through the camera. If the rewind knob didn't turn you knew that the film was not loaded properly and slipping off the advance sprocket.

But you're too young to know about this sort of stuff.

You are a brave brave woman to set that down in print.

I never take the card out.....I down load with it in. I'd forget to put another one in for sure!

Well, you did help create my background.

I remember you yelling at me one day when I was standing around watching you take photos are some event you took me to. It was a visit from bishop or cardinal or something at a big church downtown.

I was a poor college student. I only had two rolls of film. You gave me a stack and told me to reload as soon as I removed one.

Before that I had not even been loading the camera at all until I was ready to shoot because I didn't want to waste any film.
