Today's offering

Today I shot flags.

These are some I shot over the years that I like better:

Caption: Members of Alcoholics Anonymous, celebrating the 66
annual Founder's Day, gathered at Mount Peace Cemetery in Akron, Ohio,
on Sunday, June 10, 2001 at the grave of co-founder Dr. Robert
Smith. The grave site program was kicked off by a parade of about
1500 motorbikes in front of the cemetery.

Caption: Coventry Crossing, a development in Akron, Ohio, has earned
the nickname "copland" because so many cops, firefighters and
other city workers live there. Photographed on Wednesday, June 20,
2001.

Caption: Marchers where given flags to carry at the Coming
Together Unity Walk on Saturday, 9/15/2001 in downtown Akron, Ohio.

Caption: Kali (cq) Oliver, 2, of Akron, sported a star shaped
flag hat at the Coming Together Unity Walk on Saturday, 9/15/2001
in downtown Akron.

Caption: The Summit County Chapter of the American Red Cross held a "topping off" ceremony on Wednesday, October 3, 2001 to mark the placing of the highest beam in the new Red Cross Service Center in Akron, Ohio.

Caption: Members of the Ohio National Guard's Company D 1st Battalion 148th Infantry (Mechanized) left their Green headquaters at dawn on Tuesday, October 9, 2001, for a "homeland security" detail expected to last a minimum of one year.Bearing flags and banners, family members and friends lined the drive way to watch the buses leave.

I love our flag....it's bright and colorful, even aside from what it represents.
